a picture and a sonnet

it's valentine's day...

love….oh sweet love...

hearts, chocolate…romance….

romance…got me thinking about romantic images that i have taken over the years...

….i have taken many intimate and romantic pictures of women alone, as well as couples together….but this particular image stands out in my mind for romance...

and the irony is, that there was no "real" romance involved...

we set this image up and shot it a few years back for my dear friend, krissy gasbarre's book, How To Love An American Man (Harper Collins)...

it feature's krissy, my dear friend david j., and krissy's sweet grandmother….

and i'm sharing a sonnet (i memorized this in high school and have loved it ever since)  just to make sure we have the right amount of mush for this mushy, lovey day :)

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no; it is an ever-fixed mark,
That looks on tempests, and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
- SONNET 116 [William Shakespeare]

wishing you love today and everyday!
