breaking news….have you heard?

if i have said it once, i'll say it 100 times...

i am surrounded by the most inspiring, talented, beautiful (inside and out), giving, people on the planet.

surrounded in my book, does not mean that they live near me.

the people surrounding my life that inspire me in such ways are of every age group,

and from all over this country.

HOWEVER, ryan devlin, is one of those people that i DO get to live by.

when ryan and i talk…it's almost dangerous.  the ideas we have, the excitement that we can't contain, the brainstorming that goes on (that's the same as ideas right? he he he).  i leave a conversation with him, inspired, energetic, wiser, and even more hopeful.

and although i HAVE seen him in action, teaching in his classroom, as i think about how he affects ME  this way, i have a deeper understanding of how his students must feel being educated by him.

last year, ryan was the the "Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year."

OF COURSE, we were thrilled, and proud!

i had taken his pictures, and even my london had the opportunity to appear in one of the videos he made for his application.

BUT TODAY…there is AMAZING NEWS.

it is announced today, that ryan is 1 of 4 finalists for the national teacher of the year!

what incredible news for an incredible teacher and guy!

hmmmm…and guess who shot his headshots for this?  :)))))

here are some of the images that I took for ryan and the national committee to use for this amazing accomplishment.

enjoy and enjoy ryan's quotes as well!

“I want my students to become as curious as Albert Einstein, as determined as Michael Jordan, as imaginative as Walt Disney, as articulate as Martin Luther King, Jr., as innovative as Steve Jobs, as clever as Benjamin Franklin, as brave as Rosa Parks, as kind as Mister Rogers, and as wholehearted as Mother Teresa.” -Ryan Devlin,   2013 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year 2014 Finalist, National Teacher of the Year Brockway Area Senior High School Teacher My Friend :)

"We need excitement and energy within the walls of all school buildings, which is why we must continue to populate our schools with teachers who teach students, not build robots. Although our schools might not resemble Hogwarts, they too can be magical places, especially when they help students’ talents find purpose." -Ryan Devlin,   2013 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year 2014 Finalist, National Teacher of the Year Brockway Area Senior High School Teacher My Friend :)
